The Alternative Government of National Unity (AGONU) is the legitimate technocratic authority of the Republic of South Sudan, established following the material breach of the Revitalized Agreement on the Resolution of the Conflict in South Sudan (R-ARCSS) by the administration in Juba.

AGONU operates as a caretaker administration with the mandate to restore sovereign legitimacy, protect citizens, and facilitate a transition to a permanent, constitutionally mandated government through credible elections.
